Frequently Asked Questions
What are the health benefits of Zumba?
Zumba assists with fitness, balance, co-ordination, posture and overall gentle muscle toning. When we dance, we use muscles that you don't use when walking. It is a natural way to release serotonin (happy hormone) throughout the body which assists anxiety or depression. It's so fun, you won't realize you are actually exercising.
Where are the classes held?
How long do the classes run for?
The class runs for 1 hour, this includes the warm up and the cool down. Please arrive 5-10 mins before class to sign in.
When are the classes?
Currently we dance on Monday evenings at 7.30pm and Wednesday mornings at 10.00am. Classes run during the school terms
i.e. 4 terms x 10 weeks. We have a break during the school holidays.
Our classes are held in a hall at 56 Norfolk Road, Epping (the back of the LifeWay Lutheran Church). There is plenty of unlimited street parking.
If I can't make the class, do I still need to pay?
NO, you only pay when you attend. If you are unwell or unable to attend class, your remaining classes stay until they expire.
Expiry is 4 months after purchase of a pack (can be extended for special circumstances).
No special gear at all, just wear comfortable clothing and supportive footwear. Oh and dont forget your water bottle.
What do I wear?
Is it difficult to learn, how long does it take?
Everyone's learning abilities are different, however you learn at your own pace. Some people pick it up straight away and others take longer. Most people grasp the concept by the 3rd or 4th class. Don't forget, Zumba is open for interpretation, you dance as you interpret the moves.
What happens if I get confused and can't keep up?
No one is judging you, so it doesn't matter. If the moves seem too hard, simply march on the spot till you are ready to try again. Just don't stop dancing - keep moving.
Can I bring my baby/toddler?
You sure can dance together (how special is that) - however, they need to stay close to you as to not trip over other students. Additionally, there is pram access to the hall.
Do you need a high fitness level or some sort of dance experience to join?
Zumba is for all fitness levels. No dance experience is necessary. Young, old, male, female, anyone and everyone can do it because you are participating at your own pace.
Is there membership fees? What is the cost per class?
No membership fees or contracts, we are a private fitness class. You can pay $20 for a casual class OR purchase a 10 class pass package for $150 - it works out at only $15 per class.
Can I start mid-term?
Even though our classes align with school terms you can join anytime you like, it doesn't need to be at the beginning of a term.
