My Zumba Story
In 2013, I hit a very low point in my life. My friend suggested we trial a ZUMBA class, she said it would help with mental and physical health. I was very skeptical and hesitant to say the least - I was not a very good dancer and I had no idea of what ZUMBA was, I had never heard of it before! Then she said, "you'll never know if you don't give it a go" - SO I DID.

I was so nervous as I had no idea of what to expect, BUT from the minute the music started I instantly fell in love with the Latino rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton & Cumbia mixed with Pop, Belly Dance & Bollywood. All the moves were completely foreign, but it didn't take long at all to catch on. The next thing I knew I was experiencing something I hadn't felt in a long time...the feeling of PURE happiness. I was laughing, singing (to myself) and dancing my way to overall improved health.

I met another instructor at class, she inspired me to become a ZUMBA instructor. Before long we were sparkling in sweat together, creating and learning new routines. We practiced and became more confident as instructors. We helped each other grow and danced together for many years enjoying all the benefits ZUMBA offered along the way.
Today, I am still so passionate and proud to pass on the methods I have learned as a dedicated instructor. In my classes, my goal is to ensure each student leaves feeling happy, proud and confident within themselves. Each week I watch them enjoy their classes and laugh as they sparkle in sweat.
AND if they become incredible ZUMBA dancers along the way...well that's a BONUS.
